Project Engineer Assistant

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Kalman & Company, Inc. is seeking a full-time Project Engineer Assistant (PEA). Applicants must have a willingness to follow all safety and conduct rules and comply with company policies. Applicants must be able to work well alone and as part of a team. This position falls under the Department of Labor’s (DOL) Service Contract Act (SCA).


PEAs in the Scheduling Department are responsible for assisting the Lead PE and other PEs in all daily tasks and ensure the completion of each assigned task as directed. PEAs provide technical knowledge where applicable and facilitate accurate rosters, project folders, and system inputs for all commands supported daily by use of established warehouse (WMS) and quality (QMS) management systems. PEAs perform quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) activities by way of visual / technical inspection on all WMS inputs / outputs utilizing established processes, procedures, and technical guidance and comply to all safety, conduct, and company policies and procedures as defined.

Specific Duties:

  • Perform visual/technical inspections and analysis of all WMS and process inputs/outputs as trained and directed or in the absence of PE.
  • Provide the results of data and analyses into reports for review and use by PE, Lead PE, and upper management as directed.
  • When directed, interact with diverse groups to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests about products and services.
  • When directed, respond promptly to customer or inter-departmental inquiries.
  • Process orders, forms, and requests within the WMS and other related systems as directed..
  • Direct order requests and unresolved issues to the designated members of Management
  • Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions as directed..
  • Communicate and coordinate with internal departments, as directed..
  • When directed, follow up on customer / client interactions to provide further support and / or services.
  • Assist the Lead PE and PE in maintaining accuracy and quality of the CBR inventory by utilizing the WMS dashboard and related operational modules to appropriately input and manage various types of data surrounding customer interactions and support.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ability to work standing and/or sitting down for up to 8 hours a day in a climate controlled or non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Ability to lift and handle material weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Clearance and maintain that clearance with 6-month re-verification.
  • US Citizenship is required.

Preferred Education/Qualifications:


  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Experience with appropriate Navy CBR equipment is preferred.
